Produkcja telewizyjna powstała na podstawie drugiego tomu serii ,,Game Changer". Żadne wydawnictwo w Polsce na razie nie wydaje książek Rachel Reid. Nie znalazłam też informacji o potencjalnym zakupie praw. Mimo to w tym roku na polskim rynku ukazało się sporo romansów z motywem hokeja.

Oficjalnie inspiracją do napisania książki była rywalizacja w lidze NHL pomiędzy Sidneyem Crosbym i Alexandrę Ovechkinem, ale autorka podkreśla, że jej postacie są fikcyjne i oryginalne. Jednak to nie wszystko. Oryginalnie ,,Heated Rivalry" było fanfikiem Stucky  (nazwa relacji pomiędzy pomiędzy Stevem Rogersem a Buckym Barnesem z Marvela) publikowanym w latach 2016 - 2017 w Internecie. Na dzień dzisiejszy można znaleźć 6 z 16 rozdziałów. Jego opis brzmiał.
